The Assemblies of God began when Daniel Berg and Gunnar Vingren, two Swedish Pentecostal missionaries departed to Brazil. They arrived in Belém, Pará, where in 1911 founded the Mission of the Apostolic Faith, which later changed its name in 1918 to "Assembly of God".
The Assemblies of God reached the Amazon villages and the semi-arid Northeast before migrants from the North brought the Church to Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo in the late 1920s.
Initially the Assemblies of God was intimately linked to the Scandinavian Pentecostal movement, led by Lewi Pethrus, who financed and sent missionaries to help Berg and Vingren. The Swedish Pentecostals gave autonomy to the Brazilian Assemblies of God in a General Convention in 1932. From that time onward, the American Assemblies of God increased their presence, mainly on doctrinal and teaching spheres, on the Brazilian denomination, but retained its independence from their American brethren.
In 1999, Pastor Milton M. dos Santos was sent by the Ministry of Assemblies of God of the Church of Madureira - Araraquara SP to open a congregation in Japan to help foreigners living in Gunma-Ken state, where services began in the same year. .
Since then, this ministry has served the needs of many people through pastoral counseling, wedding ceremonies and funerals, reaching out to people of various nationalities to proclaim the gospel, teaching and empowering evangelical pastors and missionaries.
In case of earthquakes we provide food and lodging in hostel.
Our goal is to fulfill the order of Jesus:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.Training and formation of missionaries and pastors.
Once we have established our understanding of missions in the big story of the Bible, we will look at what missions actually involves. We will define missions as disciples of Jesus making new disciples of Jesus, out of peoples and places not yet reached with the gospel. For this reason, we will spend a full unit of lessons defining what it means to be a disciple, and then we will spend another unit exploring the basic tasks that make up the work of missions. In an age where the word “missions” can mean almost anything the church does outside its own walls, it is very important that we understand exactly what is involved in doing biblical mission work.
